Dear Heritage Families,
Just a reminder to be alert, courteous, and follow traffic rules to ensure a safe arrival and exit from school! Always use crosswalks to cross the front parking lot, and use a single file drop off at the curb in the morning.
Kindergarten and TK: (see detailed letter attached regarding orientation)
- AM Kinder parents will meet teachers at the front gate at 7:45am . Teachers will bring students in to stand on the lines inside the front gate and walk them to class. Students eating breakfast can leave the MPR and join these lines at 7:45.
AM Kinder teachers will walk their kids to the front gate at 11:15 and dismiss them them through the gate (parents park and walk up).
- PM TK students will meet the teacher at 11:15 at the gate near the MPR in the staff front parking lot and be walked to class by the teacher. PM TK parents will meet the teacher at the same MPR gate and pick up their kids at 2:45pm.
- PM Kinder students will meet their teacher at the front gate at 11:15am who will walk students to class. Please stay with your child at the front gate area and be sure to supervise them until the teacher is there. For pick up, PM kinder parents will drive and park up the county loop and pick up kids at C gate. This county loop and C gate are accessed via Acanthus. “C” Gate by Kindergarten playground will be where all PM Kinder and their older siblings will meet to be picked up IN PERSON by parents who must WALK up.
Morning Drop Off Procedures Grades 1-8: Drop off no earlier than 7:30am as there is no supervision until then.
- Students grades 1st-8th may be dropped off at the front or back of school. Make a single file drop off at the curb in the morning. The back gate will open at 7:40am and is accessed via Acanthus Rd. If your child is eating breakfast which begins at 7:30, please drop them off in front of school. The front gates next to the office will open at 7:40. Students arriving between 7:30 and 7:40 will enter through the front office and proceed to the MPR for breakfast and to the playground to wait for the bell.
Afternoon Pick Up Procedures:
- All 4th-8th grade students with no younger siblings in TK-3rd grade will be dismissed to the Back Parking Lot (Acanthus). This will be a drive-through pick up only. Students will wait on the grass. A proctor will call family names and gate # with a megaphone and students will go to the appropriate gate for pick up. No parking in Acanthus lot except for teachers “parallel” parking against the far south fence. Please be courteous and SAFE by following the proctor’s signals for entering and exiting the driveway. Remind your student to listen for their names and move quickly to the assigned gate #.
- All 1st-3rd graders and their older siblings will be picked up in the front lot. Parents can park and walk up to the front gate or the grass to meet students. Students will sit on the grass with their older siblings and wait to be picked up. Please use crosswalks to cross the parking lot. Staff will use signs and help families cross. For drive up, a proctor will stand near the west crosswalk and use a megaphone to announce the family name. Students will listen for their names and line up at the curb to enter their car. Staff will assist at the curb for safety. Please encourage your child to listen for their names and line up at the curb quickly and safely. All students should be picked up no later than 3:00.
- We are in the process of making student name placards to place on car dashboards to make the front and back lot drive-through process faster.
