Update at 2:00 PM
Dear Heritage Families and Staff,
Earlier today, a small electrical fire occurred in the outside, wall-mounted HVAC unit connected to Room 1. The fire alarm was immediately activated, and our emergency procedures were followed.
We’re grateful to share that:
-
All fire and law enforcement personnel have now cleared the scene.
-
No students or staff required medical treatment.
-
The fire was quickly contained by Heritage staff using a fire extinguisher.
The Fire Department confirmed the situation was safe, and students and staff were able to return to class.
The cause of the fire was a seized motor in the HVAC unit. Snowline Maintenance and Operations will be repairing and replacing the unit. Room 1 will also receive a full deep cleaning tonight, along with an ozone-generation fan running overnight to ensure the space is completely safe and ready.
We are so proud of the swift, professional actions of our staff and the calm cooperation of our students. Everyone worked together to keep safety the top priority—great job by all!
